Daily non-stop flights to LA coming to YLW

Jul 11, 2024 | 3:00 PM

Alaska Airlines will offer daily non-stop, seasonal service from Kelowna to Los Angeles this winter.

Starting on Dec. 19, 2024, the route will be operated daily, with the exception of Jan. 6 – Feb. 12, when it will operate five times a week: Thursday to Monday, with no service on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas said the new direct destination will provide benefits to the entire community.

“From improving the ability for more tourists to access all the Okanagan has to offer like world-class skiing and rich cultural experiences, to providing our residents a link to LA and connecting destinations, to improved access for those travelling through the United States for business purposes,” Dyas said.

“I am happy to see our international destinations from YLW continue to increase and serve our community.”

Geoff Ritchie, Director of Commercial and Air Service at Kelowna International Airport, said Alaska Airlines has been a valuable partner of YLW’s for more than 28 years and they are excited to see the continued growth of direct international destinations.

“It has been over a decade since we had direct service to LAX, so we are thrilled Alaska Airlines is bringing back this integral route for the Okanagan community,” Ritchie remarked.
