Jun 19, 2024 | 4:05 PM

Gas stations in Vernon are starting to hike their prices.

The posted prices of regular fuel for stations along 32nd Street, including the Chevron and Co-op, rose 12 cents on a daily basis to $1.75.9 Wednesday, June 19.

The move follows a similar hike made by the Petro Can on 27th Street the day prior, where the price per litre jumped 13 cents to $1.76.9.

Though some stations have increased their price, Gas Buddy still had several Vernon stations listed as having regular gasoline available for $1.63.9 as of 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The new price of $1.75.9 is up from the average price per litre of $1.72.9 in May, and is also up from Vernon’s average price of $1.67.9 in June of 2023.

Kelowna’s average gas price also went up to $1.76.9 Wednesday, though it was noted that was still 12 cents below the average price recorded the month prior, and down 15.6 cents from the same time last year.

The price tracking website had listed a Super Save station in Quesnel as having the cheapest gasoline in B.C. at $1.54.9 as of 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
