ERT assisted with local search for suspicious person, no arrests made

Traffic was temporarily disrupted around Highway 97 and Westside Rd. last week as police called in support to search for a suspicious individual.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said that at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, police launched an investigation into a report of a suspicious person on Westside Rd.

During the course of the investigation, local police determined the suspect may have an elevated risk, and the RCMP’s Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called in to assist with locating the person.

Vernon RCMP said the investigation did not result in any arrests being made, and the investigation into the report of a suspicious person was closed.
