Taxes Due July 2

Property taxes due in early July

May 27, 2024 | 12:44 PM

The City of Vernon is reminding residents to pay their property taxes on time.

The City stated Property Tax Notices were mailed out in May, and property owners have until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, to pay their taxes.

Anyone who didn’t receive their notice by mail is encouraged to check their email inbox or to log into their MyCity account to retrieve the information.

Taxes can be paid at City Hall, though people can skip the line by paying online through their financial institutions, by using the 24-hour drop box at the front entrance of City Hall, or by mailing a cheque to the city.

The public is reminded that cheques sent by mail must arrive ahead of the July 2 deadline, and that postmarks on mailed remittances will not be considered as the date of payment.

The city also remind eligible home owners that they can claim Home Owner Grants before July 2 by submitting applications online or by calling the Province at 1-888-355-2700.
