Brian Walsh is being remembered as a man who single-handedly did everything he could to clean up Vernon.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend, coworker, and devoted husband, Brian Walsh,’ the Downtown Vernon Association (DVA) posted on its Facebook page.

“Throughout his tenure at the DVA, Brian’s unwavering dedication to our community was evident as he worked to enhance the beauty of downtown Vernon, single-handedly removing over 2500 pounds of waste.”

Walsh, who unexpectedly passed away recently, had been the DVA’s downtown beautification technician since May 2022.

“His efforts were not just about aesthetics; they reflected his profound love for our city and its people,” the business organization wrote.

A GoFundMe has been initiated by Troy HIll to help Walsh’s wife Pauline.

“This GoFundMe campaign aims to alleviate the financial strain of Brian’s unexpected passing, ensuring that Pauline can focus on grieving and healing without the added worry of end-of-life expenses,” Hill said.

Hill said Walsh and his wife both loved riding their Harley Davidsons in the summer.

“Four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul. We miss you Brian and hope you are riding your Harley and setting off car alarms,” Hill said.
