The Rise Golf Resort is bringing new amenities on stream for the 2024 season, with a 30,000 square foot expansion.

After construction set-backs due to faulty concrete, the 160-seat “The Edge” restaurant and related facilities are set to open this summer. A specific date wasn’t released.

The resort describes the facility as a “unparalleled dining experiences, whether within the 160-seat restaurant or dining room, while absorbing the scenic beauty from the expansive outdoor deck or unwinding at the chic bar.”

There will also be banquet space for events and weddings at The Edge’s Stellar Banquet Room, catering to weddings, private events, and gatherings.

The business is also offering new “Signature Golf” experiences in the retail shop featuring leading golf and lifestyle brands, including labels not available anywhere else in B.C.

Dante’s Golf Lounge will feature state-of-the-art golf simulators where players can try renowned courses worldwide in 4K.

The resort has also announced the appointment of Mark Lehmann as director of food and beverage. He has been with Silver Star Mountain Resort for 18 years.

Born and raised in Queensland, Australia, Lehmann’s love for the outdoors and passion for the hospitality industry saw him accept an offer to join Silver Star’s food and beverage team in 2006 and make what was planned to be a short working holiday to Canada.

With a background in business management from the University of Queensland and numerous years working all aspects of the hospitality industry, Lehmann moved into a restaurant managers position at Silver Star before accepting the manager role. He has become a fully-fledged Canadian citizen and calls Vernon home.

“For the past eight years, Mark has, with the help of his team, prioritized a keen focus on customer service and offering quality food, successfully growing Silver Star’s culinary scene into a thriving business in both winter and summer,” a newsletter from The Rise stated.
