Enderby’s bid for Hockeyville title gets assist from past winner

Mar 14, 2024 | 4:00 AM

The leader of Lumby’s succesful Kraft Hockeyville effort in 2016 has thrown support behind Enderby’s bid for the title this year.

Angie Clowry has posted a video on social media, asking for people to vote for Enderby for Kraft Hockeyville 2024.

Clowry also challenged the former Salmon Arm Silverbacks GM and coach, Troy Mick who is from Vernon, Vernon city councillor Akbal Mund, and Lumby Mayor Kevin Acton to make videos asking people to vote, and to each challenge three other people to do the same.

Mick, who currently coaches the U16 Wenatchee Wild, rose to the occasion and made a video, in which he challenged Dallas Stars scout Dennis Holland, former NHL’er Jason Podollan, and longtime Vernon goalie Glenn Mitchell to do the same.

“The key to winning is asking for help and keeping the info top of mind and make everyone in the Okanagan aware of the top four short list as this alone is a huge ordeal,” Clowry stated in an email release.

“Winning would give Enderby a 250-thousand dollar grand prize along with a pre-season NHL game. Currently, Enderby’s arena is shut down due to a mechanical issue.”

Clowry has also launched a Vote Enderby as Kraft Hockeyville 2024 Facebook page to raise support for the community.

Voting for the Kraft Hockeyville 2024 winner will be done on March 29 and 30.
