New president for Vernon-based Kal Tire

An experienced industry leader has taken over the top position of Kal Tire.

The Vernon-based company announced that, as of March 1, Corey Parks is the new president.

He takes over from Robert Foord, who spent 15 years as president of the tire company his father, Tom Foord, founded in 1953.

Robert Foord has transitioned to the role of executive vice-chair of the board.

Parks has past experience in the field, having served in leadership roles with Les Schwab Tire Centres in the US for over 22 years, including spending some time as chief administrative officer, executive vice president, secretary and general counsel.

“Corey is an exceptional leader, communicator and relationship builder — and he’s someone who strongly aligns with the values and culture of Kal Tire,” Robert Foord said, adding Kal Tire will remain a private, family-owned business.

“Our family remains as committed as ever to the long-term success of the company, and we are excited for him to join the team.”

Parks joined the Kal Tire team in Sept. 2023 as a member of the Senior Management Team, and has spent the past six months touring stores across Canada as well as international mining operations.

“This is a company I’ve respected deeply throughout my career, so I’m humbled and honoured by the opportunity to build on the legacy of Robert Foord,” Parks said.

“As we look to the future, I hope to offer not just continuity but also new opportunities for team members around the world to excel in their roles and exceed every customer’s expectations — even, and especially, as our industry evolves.”

Parks and his wife, Michelle, now live permanently in Vernon.
