Okanagan College hosting open house events

Mar 1, 2024 | 2:30 PM

Okanagan College will be opening its doors to the public.

The campuses throughout the Okanagan will hold open houses to allow high school students, parents, and people of all ages to learn about the post secondary education opportunities in the region.

The first open house will be held at the Salmon Arm Campus on March 5. There will then be one held at the Vernon campus on March 11, one in Penticton on March 14, and the last session will be held at the Kelowna campus on April 3.

“We are incredibly excited to be able to welcome future students to our campuses this fall,” Dr. Samantha Lenci, Okanagan College Provost and Vice President of Academics, said.

“Events like these are an excellent way to explore and experience OC first-hand, to get your questions answered, and to learn about programs, pathways and supports available to students.”

The events will allow people to learn about the roughly 150 programs and courses offered through OC, as well as hear speeches from professors and instructors.

Attendees will also be able to get information on the pre-requisites and admission criteria for OC programs.

“Whether you are stepping into a college classroom for the first time or are returning to education, this is a wonderful opportunity to get a sense of what awaits you at OC – to help make it easier for you as you make decisions about your next steps,” said Lenci.

Applications for OC’s 2024-25 academic year have also opened, and people interested in enrolling can learn more and apply online here.
