These products are being recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination stemming from the use of a cheese associated with an outbreak in the United States.

The bacteria can cause listeriosis. A mild infection can cause fever, muscle aches, nausa vomiting and diarrhea in mild infections. A severe infection can involve those symptoms as well as headaches, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions.

Pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are more at risk of developing a serious infection.

Health Canada says people should not consume, serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled products. Instead, they should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

Anyone who believes they have become sick due to consuming a recalled product should contact their health care provider.
