One death linked to COVID outbreak at VJH

One person has died as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

Interior Health confirmed the death with Vernon Matters Monday, Feb. 5.

The outbreak was first declared on Jan. 25 in the 2 East/West wing of VJH, and was deemed over on Feb. 2.

The outbreak involved seven people, all of whom were patients.

Interior Health did not say if there were any other serious illness associated with the infections.
