New site for Winter Carnival Balloon Glow

One of the most popular events of Vernon Winter Carnival will change locations.

“Polson Park is too wet and our Balloon Glow will now be hosted at Kal Tire Place and Kin Race Track,” Kris Fuller, Carnival’s executive director, said.

The event’s time will remain the same, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 2, the opening of the 64th annual Winter Carnival.

“Balloons only glow from 5-5:30 p.m. and this is still weather dependent,” Fuller cautioned.

To ease parking issues, there will be free transit that day on Routes 1-9. Transfers will not be provided (not for regional routes 60, 61, 90).
