Salmon Arm Wal Mart closed due to suspected public threat

The Wal Mart located in Salmon Arm was closed temporarily due to a possible threat to public safety Monday, Dec. 18.

RCMP said officers responded to a complaint at the store on 10 Ave. SW was temporarily closed to ensure the safety of patrons and staff.

Police cleared the building to ensure no one was left inside, and then worked with store management to conduct a comprehensive sweep of the building.

After conducting the sweep, officers learned the threat to public safety had actually been made the previous week, and there was no existing risk to the public.
