Man with gunshot wound treated at VJH

RCMP say a man attended the emergency department at Vernon Jubilee Hospital Wednesday night (Dec. 13) suffering from a gunshot wound.

Media relations officer Const. Chris Terleski said a safety protocol was initiated at the facility and police immediately attended the hospital.

“Preliminary findings from the initial investigation suggest criminality is not involved and this is an isolated incident with no known risk to the public,” Terleski told Vernon Matters.

Police say the injuries were not life-threatening.
