Crash on icy highway claims woman’s life
RCMP are investigating a fatal crash on a highway in B.C.’s Southern Interior.
Police say a Chevrolet Tracker and Subaru Outback were involved in the incident on Highway 3 in the early evening of Sunday, Dec. 10.
“The initial investigation has determined that the driver of the Tracker lost control on icy roads and crossed over the center line into the path of an oncoming Subaru Outback. Tragically the passenger of the Chevrolet Tracker, a 62-year-old woman from Grand Forks, passed away in hospital several hours later,” Inspector Chad Badry from the BC Highway Patrol said.
The driver of the Tracker was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle were not seriously injured.
