Traffic changes at H2O Centre

Nov 23, 2023 | 3:15 PM

The City of Kelowna has introduced traffic pattern changes at H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre which it says will create safer, unobstructed routes for pedestrians, motorists, and transit vehicles.

The changes include two new loading zones, one on either side of the road directly in front of H2O, to provide a more convenient location for pick up and drop off. The road has been converted into a one way to improve traffic flow.

Accessible parking has been expanded by two stalls and is now located in the first row of the parking lot. This new location means people using accessible stalls no longer have to exit their vehicles and travel along the busy frontage road to access the ramp.

The roundabout will now be restricted to transit and emergency vehicle use only.

“These changes will improve the safety of traffic flow, accessibility, and the overall experience of those visiting H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre,” Geert Bos, infrastructure operations department manager, said.

New signs and road markings indicate the new traffic pattern.
