The return to an in-person event turned out to be a big plus for the Kalamalka Rotary’s annual Dream Auction.

Over 360 attendees, dressed in their best attire to match the “Back in Black” theme, bid a total of $237,456 on both live and silent auctions at the 39th edition of the popular event.

The money raised will go to support various community projects and initiatives.

“Reflecting on the success of the 39th Annual Dream Auction, I am humbled by the incredible support of our community,” Dream Auction Chair, Brian Reid, said.

“The energy in the room was electrifying, and it’s a testament to the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors. Together, we are making a tangible difference, and I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who contributed.”

The event, held at the Prestige Vernon Lodge Saturday, Nov. 18, was the first in-person auction held by Kal Rotary since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As president of Kalamalka Rotary, witnessing the community come together for the ‘Back to Black’ Dream Auction was truly inspiring,” Tom Lewis stated.

“The funds raised will fuel our ongoing commitment to service and community betterment. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who participated, and I am excited about the positive impact we will continue to make together.”

Organizations wishing to gain access to some of the funds can apply through the Kal Rotary website.
