New food providers for Kal Tire Place

Concession services are getting an upgrade at Kal Tire Place.

The City of Vernon has awarded contracts to three local businesses, which will be operating the facility’s three concessions for the 2023-2024 season.

During events, customers can now purchase food prepared by Samosa Joe’s, Tasty Tacos and Taters, and Yeti Concessions.

“These three businesses bring a variety of food to Kal Tire Place concessions, both traditional arena food and unique offerings,” Leah Walker, manager of customer service – recreation, said.

“We are really excited and feel this variety will make for an even greater experience at Kal Tire Place. We thank the community for its patience while the final arrangements were made to bring in these new vendors.”

In addition to the three new concession vendors, the regular concourse vendors are back for another season. Midian Coffee Company, Ogopogo Mini Donuts, and Hawaiian Shaved Ice can be found on the concourse during all major events.

There has been complaints on social media about the lack of food and beverage options at the community facility.
