Contractors selected for Active Living Centre

The City of Vernon has selected the partners who will be building the new Active Living Centre.

The city is using an Integrated Project Delivery (IDP) model for the design and construction of the multi-purpose indoor recreation facility which sees a project team consisting of the facility owner, architect, general contractor and other trades partners work together early in the development process.

This process allows for all the partners to work together on the design, cost estimating, and timing for the project.

The City of Vernon has now selected all those partners to be involved in the IDP team.

Stantec Consulting has been selected as the Civil Consulting Partner, WSP Consulting was chosen as the electrical partner, AMES Consulting Group was selected as the mechanical partner, RLC Engineers was named the structural partner, Altapro Westcana Partnership is the electrical contractor for the ALC, Chapman Mechanical is the mechanical contractor, Master Pools was selected as the pool mechanic, and Collins Steel was named the structural steel partner.

The City of Vernon is still in the desining stage for the ALC, with public consultations planned for Monday and Tuesday nights at the Lakers Clubhouse.
