The Oct. 6 event will be for youth aged 13 to 18 and will feature free games, snacks and prizes in the auditorium from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will also be free basketball in the Dogwood Gym, along with a toonie skate at the Priest Valley Arena and a youth swim 2-for-1.

“We are very excited about this continued partnership with the Vernon Recreation Centre,” VWC executive director Kris Fuller said. “This is our second event for teens and we expect it to continue to grow.’

Tima Coad is the program director with the Vernon Recreation Centre, which is a co-host for the event.

“‘There’s a need for activities for this age group and we are thrilled to have the Vernon Winter Carnival join us for our second event. We are also going to host a teen during during Carnival on Monday, Feb 5 so watch for details on that, too.”
