Famoso and Ricky’s cook-up new options in Vernon

Two restaurant brands are joining forces to provide more choices for consumers in Vernon.

As of today (Sept. 6), Famoso Italian Pizzeria has opened a new location in Ricky’s All Day Grill at 4795 34th Street in the city’s north end.

The dual-branded concept allows guests to enjoy their Ricky’s favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the addition of a Famoso Pizzeria providing even more dining options.

The first Famoso opened in Edmonton in 2007, with the brand known for its authentic Neapolitan pizza.

“Famoso is passionate about authentic Italian pizza, using imported Italian bell ovens, fresh, premium ingredients, and traditional culinary techniques in pizza making that have gone unchanged for generations,” a company news release stated.

Famoso also offers rigatoni bolognese and fettucine alfredo pasta; Italian-style sandwiches, signature salads; craft beers on tap, and Italian-inspired desserts… traditional house-made Tiramisu, cheesecake, and artisan gelato.

Raymond Ho, VP of marketing for FDF Brandz, said Famoso is the perfect complement to the existing Ricky’s restaurant.

“With the addition of Famoso, we’ve got even more dining options available to our patrons yearning for a true Italian flavour,” said Ho.

“The stylish, casual pizzeria embodies the look of old-school Italy with a modern flair and is a perfect place for sharing with family and friends.”

Ricky’s began as a pancake restaurant in British Columbia in 1960. Since the late 1970s, it has evolved into a successful restaurant franchise, with over 70 locations in Canada.
