UPDATE:

As of 1:15 p.m., the evacuation alert was extended to Scotch Creek, along with Upper Meadow Creek (Celista) with properties including and between 4012 and 4596 Meadow Creek Road.

More residents are being impacted by the Lower East Adams Lake wildfire in the Shuswap.

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District has issued an evacuation alert for Lee Creek in Electoral Area F.

“A wildfire burning near Lower East Adams Lake and east of the Adams River in the CSRD is increasing the risk to additional properties in Electoral Area F,” a news release from the regional district stated.

The CSRD said on Wednesday, increased winds were expected to “drastically increase” fire behaviour along the east side of the fire.

The alert is a warning about a potential threat to life and/or property. It is intended to give residents time to be ready for a possible evacuation.
