UPDATE: 11 a.m. July 18, 2023

The wildfire southeast of Falkland is still classified as out of control, but it is not showing any growth.

The Bolean Lake Road Fire is estimated at 0.1 hectares, which is the same as on Monday.

One initial attack crew and a helicopter are on the scene today, July 18.

“Crews are having success there, and some of that can be attributed to the weather we had yesterday: a bit cooler conditions and some precipitation in some areas, so that would be helpful for them on site,” Taylor Shantz from the BC Wildfire Service told Vernon Matters.

No structures are threatened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
