A North Okanagan man has plead guilty to disobeying court orders.

Curtis Wayne Sagmoen, born in 1980, appeared in Vernon provincial court Wednesday, June 28.

“At the Vernon Law Courts today, Curtis Sagmoen pled guilty to count 2 of court file number 56239-2-BC and counts 1, 3 and 7 of court file number 56236-4-BC,” Ann Seymour with the B.C. Prosecution Service told Vernon Matters in an email.

“All four counts are breach of probation charges.”

Sagmoen will next appear in court August 30.

He has past convictions for assaults on sex trade workers, which have drawn protests by advocates for missing and murdered women in the past.

The remains of 18-year-old Traci Genereaux was found on Sagmoen’s family’s property on Salmon River Road north of Vernon in 2017, but no charges have been laid in that case.
