Minimum wage rises June 1 in B.C.
People making minium wage will get a bigger pay cheque as of Thursday.
The province’s general minimum wage goes up by $1.10 — from $15.65 to $16.75 an hour — on June 1.
The 6.9 per cent jump also applies to minimum-wage rates for resident caretakers, live-in home-support workers and live-in camp leaders.
The government said the hike will impact about 150,000 workers who currently earn less than $16.75 per hour.
