Sunshine Festival set to make its return

The Downtown Vernon Association will be celebrating the summer with the return of the Sunshine Festival.

After holding off on the event under the COVID-19 pandemic, the DVA is bringing back the festival in Vernon’s downtown core.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 17. During the festival parking meters downtown will be shut off and street parking will be free.

The Sunshine Festival will see six blocks of 30th Avenue close off to vehicles to accommodate people as they visit area businesses. The festival will also feature a “Food Zone” with food trucks and picnic tables, and a “Kids Zone” with games and activities, a reptile show, an illusionist and face painting.
