Local wins car in Roll Up the Rim

An Armstrong resident’s loyalty to Tim Hortons has paid off in a big way.

Marty Eckert has won a new car in the restaurant’s Roll Up The Rim contest.

“I was just sitting on the couch, looking on my [Tim Hortons] app. I had 16 Roll-ups to do, so I started doing them. I won a few coffee, and on the very last roll, I won the car,” Eckert told Vernon Matters.

Eckert, a sheet metal worker, won a 2023 Volkswagon Taos, which will be supplied by Vernon Volkswagen.

At first, he was skeptical.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he laughed. I thought it was a joke. I had to ask my wife if it was real.”

Eckert, who says he goes to Tim Hortons at least two times a day, will be presented with the car at the Armstrong Tim Hortons on May 31.
