Kalamalka Lake water source turned off

The Kalamalka Lake water souce was turned off just before midnight Friday, May 5.

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) shut off the system due to increased turbidity at the drinking water system intake.

The turbidity was the result of rain and spring run-off in the Coldstream Creek watershed, which enters the unfiltered water source of Kalamalka Lake.

Residents who access water from Kalamalka Lake will be supplied water from the Duteau Creek Water Treatment Plant until the turbidity levels decrease.
