Vipers honour players with season-ending awards

The Vernon Vipers have handed out their year-end awards, putting a wrap on their 2022-23 B.C. Hockey League season.

Goaltenders Roan Clarke and Ethan David shared the most valuable player award while Anson McMaster and Lee Parks were chosen as the playoff MVPs.

The fan favorite award was also split between Julian Facchinelli and Ethan David.

Here is the complete list as announced by the voice of the Vipers, Graham Turnbull:

Most Valuable Player: Roan Clarke and Ethan David

Fan Favorite: Julian Facchinelli and Ethan David

Hilltop Subaru Playoff MVP: Anson McMaster and Lee Parks

Top Defenceman: Anson McMaster

Leading Scorer: Lee Parks and Reagan Milburn

Most Sportsmanlike: Connor Elliott

Rookie of the Year: Lee Parks

Most Improved Player: Hank Cleaves

Renee Holland Community Service: Ayden Third

Wayne Buck Memorial Award: Griffen Barr

Duncan Wray Memorial Award: Seiya Tanaka-Campbell

Academic Excellence: Luke Ashton

Blueliners Scholarship Award: Luke Pakulak

The Vipers’ season ended Friday, April 21 with a 4-3 loss in overtime to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks who won their second round series 4 games to 1.
