Work Delayed Due to Weather

Coldstream’s gazebo installation pushed back

Apr 18, 2023 | 2:26 PM

Work to install a gazebo at McKergow Meadows in Coldstream has been delayed.

The work was supposed to start Monday, April 17, but the District of Coldstream has pushed the work back due to cold weather conditions.

Construction is now expected to begin April 24 and completed by May 8, barring any unforseen complications.

As part of the construction process, a helicopter will be used to airlift steel beams and concrete to the site.

The District warns that the work will create traffic interruptions at least twice.

The first expected interruption will be on Middleton Way April 28. The road will be closed to through traffic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and motorists are advised to find an alternate route through that area. Access to homes will not be blocked during this work.

On May 4, brief traffic interruptions are also expected, with the District stating the most likely impacts will be 30-minute closures or traffic reduced to single lanes.

Motorists are also reminded to obey all signage and on-site traffic control measures for the duration of the project.
