Third B.C. Affordability Credit arrives to help with costs

Apr 5, 2023 | 1:15 PM

People will soon have more money in their bank account to help with the higher costs of living through the third installment of B.C.’s Affordability Credit.

About 85 per cent of British Columbians will automatically receive a full or partial payment in their accounts as early as today (Wednesday).

The amount is based on income and family size, providing as much as $164 dollars per adult and $41 dollars. It works out to around $410 for a family with two children.

“Many British Columbians continue to struggle with the costs of everyday life due to global inflation,” Premier David Eby said. “Our government is committed to supporting people through these tough times with several measures, including cost-of-living credits. The third instalment of the BC Affordability Credit will help people pay for the essentials – like a trip to the grocery store or a new pair of shoes for a growing child.”
