Police probe death of person inside vehicle

RCMP are investigating the discovery of a dead person inside a vehicle in Vernon’s Harwood area.

A number of police vehicles and officers are at the site in the 4600 block of 20th Street.

“An area has been cordoned off and additional police resources have been deployed to assist with investigating the circumstances surrounding the person’s death,” Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer, told Vernon Matters.

Terleski said the investigation is in the very early stages and he did not say if criminality is known to be a factor at this point.

“We do not believe there is any immediate public safety risk at this time,” he said.
