An Okanagan resort has made the list of top ski destinations.

The publication Conde Nast Traveler has ranked Big White as #4 in the 2022 Reader’s Choice Awards for Ski Resorts in Canada and the USA.

Big White was recognized for its “Okanagan Champagne Powder” and the grooming operations that create the corduroy runs that make carving turns so enjoyable.

The publication added there were other amenities and activities at the resort including snowmobiling, ice skating, and approximately 20 restaurants and bars. It was also noted the mountain resort is just a short trip to both Kelowna and the airport.

Big White fell between Aspen Mountain, Colorado (#3), and Whitefish Mountain, Montana (#5,) on the list of Top 10 Ski Resorts in North America list. Whistler Blackcomb was ranked #1.

Additionally, Conde Nast Traveler ranked Victoria, B.C., as the 10th friendliest city in the world.

The publication stated Victoria is a “great base point for exploring Vancouver Island” but also noted that the city is worth visiting due to the city gardens, museums, harbour and its small-town energy in the province’s capital.

Victoria was the sole Canadian city to make the list of friendly cities. San Miguel de Allende in Mexico took the top spot.

The publication also listed British Columbia as one of the top places to visit in 2023, touting the pristine nature and wilderness and the Indigenous cultures tied to the land that can be found throughout the province.

B.C. was the only place in Canada mentioned in the list.
