Attention-grabbing incident in Vernon

Dec 14, 2022 | 3:00 PM

Anyone driving on Highway 6 in Vernon Tuesday afternoon might have thought something major was taking place.

Multiple police vehicles, along with Vernon Fire-Rescue, ambulance and a tow truck were on the scene across from the Okanagan Science Centre around 5:05 p.m., on Dec. 13, responding to an incident.

Vernon Matters reached out to RCMP for details, and what it turned out to be, was not so major.

Police say its officers responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle incident on Highway 6 near 25th Avenue where a southbound vehicle was making a left-hand turn and failed to yield the right of way to a northbound vehicle.

At least one of the vehicles was towed from the scene.

No injuries were reported.
