Two members of the North Okanagan Knights are enjoying some special recognition.

Adam Bourgeois and Austin Seibel are among the three stars of the week in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League for the week ending Nov. 20.

Seibel, who is a Coldstream product, was the top goalie after posting three victories against Osoyoos, Kamloops and 100 Mile House, capped off with a 25 save shutout against the Wranglers.

The 17-year-old finished the games with a combined .947 save percentage and a 1.30 goals against average. Seibel has nine wins with a .925 SP and a 2.72 GAA this season.

Bourgeois, a Fort St. John product, was named the top defenceman after collecting a goal and two assists in three games, helping the Knights win all three games.

The 18-year-old scored the winning goal in a 5-2 victory over the Osoyoos Coyotes.

For the season, Bourgeois has three goals and 10 points in 13 games

Keenan Ingram of the Columbia Valley Rockies was named the top forward with five goals and two assists in two games.

Meantime, Austin Seibel of the Knights was named the Player of the Game for the KIJHL Top Prospects as they took on the best from the Pacific Junior Hockey League on Nov. 22 in Chilliwack.

Seibel, an affiliate with the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks, stopped 20 of 21 shots in 30:06 of action.

The Coldstream product said what stood out to him was that everyone was working their hardest to improve.

“There is always competition between each other and it just motivates me to keep working hard and to try to beat those guys in a friendly way,” said Seibel. “I felt good, confident, but there is still lots that I need to work on,” Seibel said.
