Upgrades recommended for Lakers Clubhouse

Oct 11, 2022 | 6:00 AM

Vernon’s Lakers Clubhouse is in need of some maintenance work.

A report to City council said the facility was last renovated in 2011 and is now in need of updating.

City staff say patching, caulking, sanding and painting all walls, trim and doors is required to refresh the interior of the clubhouse located on Cummins Road in Okanagan Landing .

It was stated that the work would maintain the facility’s appeal as a rental, special event and wedding venue.

Staff also recommend installing a new key fob system to improve user access and facility security.

The report stated a new mechanical floor scrubber needs to be purchased to help the caretaker maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the facility.

Council is being asked to allocate a total of $20,000 from the 2021 unexpended and uncommitted balance to cover the purchase of the scrubber and the costs associated with the recommended maintenance work.

The matter will be discussed by city council at the regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 11.
