The kitchen is coming out and the desks are moving in.

The former Pint and Pie restaurant building at 4011-32nd Street in Vernon has been sold to Co-operators – Bracken Insurance Services Ltd.

The company has been operating out of a building at 3801-27th Street since 2016.

Owner Dale Bracken said renovations are underway to the nearly 50-year old building with a mid December occupancy.

“Nothing too extensive. Adding walls for offices and redecorating; removing the kitchen and replacing with offices and staff room; updating to make it more modern look vs. the rustic from the pub with all the wood they had,” Bracken told Vernon Matters. “The offices will be large and spacious as we have more room than we need! Setting up the basement area as a great staff and break area with exercise equipment and hoping to add a pool table.”

Parking and space limitations for staff is an issue at the 27th Street location.

“It is a great location. Right on the main highway, on the corner so accessible from any direction driving in. Visibility is great with the large pylon sign.Tons of parking which was our biggest set back at the previous location,” Bracken added.

Bracken added the move will support Co-operators rebranding with an added focus on the Life Insurance, Wealth Management, Commercial lines of business.

The British-style pub opened on October 31, 2019 just as COVID-19 restrictions started ramping up and cited that as the reason for ceasing operation in April of this year.
