Vernon Jazz Society presents 23rd season of live music

The Vernon Jazz Society is proud to present its 23rd season of live music by renowned local, national and international artists in the uber cool Vernon Jazz Club.

Opening with jazz royalty, the club will come alive with The Dan Brubeck Trio, Sept. 10. Son of legendary jazz pianist, Dave Brubeck, Dan is renowned for his original interpretations of Dave Brubeck’s globally recognized work, but also Dan’s own superb drumming.

Praised by critics worldwide, Dan will be joined by B.C. jazz icons, Miles Black on piano and Miles Hill on bass. Featured on nearly a dozen albums with his father, Dan has toured widely and appeared with many of the world’s leading orchestras achieving a reputation as one of the most talented and creative drummers in jazz.

The 2022 Vernon Jazz Club fall season features nine performances ranging from Brubeck’s cool jazz to Los Variants global funk blues, David Buchbinder’s genre bending jazz, James Brown’s sublime guitar and KINGA’s jazz/pop vocals.

Bringing in the New Year is favourite Sherman “TANK” Doucette with his instantly recognizable blues harp style and dance party music.

With the club’s cool vibe, superb sound, dance floor and bar, there is no better place to be.

Shows begin at 8 p.m. with doors open at 7:15 p.m.

There is cabaret seating for 150 with a licensed bar.

Entirely volunteer run, the Vernon Jazz Society has been delivering jazz in all its forms since 1999. The society is dedicated to creating a space where great live music can be heard and enjoyed.

With approximately 20 gigs a year from September to May, audiences enjoy a superb venue with vintage vibe in a wonderful 1906 heritage building in downtown Vernon.

The club is located above Nolan’s Drugs at 3000 31st Street in Vernon.
