Jul 13, 2022 | 5:47 PM

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — The City of Kamloops says crews are investigating a train derailment in the B.C. Interior community.

The city says in a tweet that CP Rail has confirmed there were no hazardous goods aboard the train cars.

It’s unclear what caused the train to go off the tracks or if anyone was injured.

CP Rail did not immediately respond to requests for information and media contacts for the city, RCMP and Kamloops Fire Rescue could not be reached.

The incident occurred in the city’s Mission Flats neighbourhood that runs along the Thompson River.

Social media posts show at least half a dozen train cars affected.
