Student dies after bus hit by van
A teenager from Quebec passed away in Kelowna General Hospital from injuries suffered in an accident near Castlegar.
The 18-year-old woman was among 16 students traveling in a BC Transit bus when it was sideswiped by a Purolator cube van on Thursday, June 30.
The young woman had been attending an English-language program at Selkirk College in Castlegar.
“The driver of the courier van remained at the scene,” said Inspector Chad Badry with BC Highway Patrol in the Kootenays.
