Serious injuries in Lake Country ATV crash

Jun 26, 2022 | 9:15 AM

A man riding his ATV back to his campsite near Beaver Lake Saturday evening suffered serious head injuries after the unit flipped, throwing the rider. He was found by two dirt bikers who called 9-1-1.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) was called out to assist the B.C. Emergency Health Services, for the rescue along the High Rim Trail between Lake Country and Oyama.

COSAR members arrived on scene as BC ambulance crews where loading the male into the ambulance.

COSAR would like to remind outdoor enthusiasts to be prepared by following Adventure Smart’s “Three T’s”: Trip-planning, Training and Take-the 10 Essentials. Visit www.adventuresmart.ca for information and to download their Trip Plan app.
