Body found in burnt vehicle near Chase

The RCMP has launched an investigation after a body was discovered in a burned-out vehicle near Skmana Lake, which is just a 20-minute drive from the Shuswap community of Chase.
Members of Chase RCMP attended the scene just before 1 p.m. on April 22 after receiving a complaint of an abandoned and burned-out vehicle parked at the lake.
Officers found the burnt older sedan in the area of the Skmana Lake Road and Loakin Bear Creek Road, and the search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a body of an unknown individual.
The RCMP say the death was unexpected and suspicious, and the Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) has taken over the investigation
