Vernon has cheapest gas in B.C. after local prices dropped

Vernon drivers are benefiting from the cheapest gasoline prices in the province.

The price per litre dropped 10 cents across most of Vernon’s stations Wednesday, resulting in the city having the cheapest fuel in all of British Columbia,

Vernon’s Super Save 32nd Street had the cheapest fuel in the province at $1.73.9 per litre Thursday morning. The price fluctuated through the day, but as of 4:30 p.m. the price at the pump was $1.71.9.

Three other North Okanagan communities topped the list from the gasoline price tracking website Gas Buddy for cheap fuel Thursday.

The Tempo station in Enderby had their prices set at $1.77.9, as did the Esso in Lumby. The Canadian Tire station in Vernon and the Super Save and Petro-Canada stations in Salmon Arm had their pump price set at $1.78.9.

In Vernon, the Safeway station and the Super Save on 27th St. were selling gasoline for $1.73.9 per litre, while the Mobil outlets and the Petro-Canada on 27th St. were listed at $1.78.4.

As of time of publication, the most expensive fuel in Vernon was $1.80.4 per litre at the Petro-Canada on 48th Ave.
