It’s being called ‘Freedom Friday.’

A Vernon nightclub reopens tonight for the first time since the pandemic started in March 2020.

Saverio Loria, owner of Status Nightclub on 29th Avenue downtown, is excited about their grand reopening weekend.

“After two long years the wait is over. Status Nightclub Vernon will be reopening this Friday at 9 p.m. Brought to you by Loria Group Entertainment. Can’t wait to see everyone!,” Loria said on Facebook.

Patrons will not have to wear masks, but will have to show proof of vaccination.

“I’m expecting it to be very busy after been closed for two years. I’ve got lots of reservations and guest list is almost full,” Loria told Vernon Matters.

The owner says he’s been busy preparing for opening night including hiring his employees.

“I have full staff hired and ready to go,” Loria remarked.
