North Okanagan residents will soon have more quick-service dining and take-out options in Vernon.

Work continues on the Triple O’s Burgers and Popeyes Louisiana Chicken restaurants which are in an adjoined building on 27th Street beside Co-Op Gas.

Triple O’s, which is owned by the British Columbia’s White Spot chain, is expected to open in mid-February, with word that Akbal Mund will be the manager. Mund is a former co-owner of Wendy’s Restaurants in Vernon and the Interior.

The staff will be hired in January.

Popeyes Louisiana Chicken, which is a subsidiary of Toronto-based Restaurant Brands International, told Vernon Matters, they expect to open next month.

“The current information we can provide on this location is that it is now on track to open by mid-January, 2022,” said the company’s public relations team.

Supply issues have slowed down construction for both of the new businesses.

There is also a new Jump’n Jack Splash Car Wash on the same site, which is also under the White Spot ownership family.
