Detour for portion of 32nd Ave. will be in place Thursday

The City of Vernon is putting a detour in place for a portion of 32nd Ave. as crews install a storm service.

The detour will be in effect on Thursday, Sept. 16, and will see only local traffic allowed on 32nd Ave. between 26 and 27 Streets as the work is done.

City crews are expected to start the work at 7:30 a.m. Thursday and have it done later that same day, barring any unforseen emergencies or issues.

The city warns that though efforts will be made to create as little disruption as possible, motorists should still expect some delays in the area.
