Introduction of B.C. Vaccine Card leads to some health orders being lifted by Interior Health
Interior Health (IH) has updated the regional regulations surrounding COVID-19 now that the B.C. Vaccine Card program is underway.
IH is making it possible for larger events to go ahead in the region as long as participants show proof of full vaccination.
The Gatherings and Events Order has been updated in the Interior to allow for smaller organized events where participants must show proof of vaccination. People will need to show proof of having one dose until October 24, when the requirement will change to only allow access to people who are fully vaccinated. Those events will be able to accommodate up to 50 people indoors, and up to 100 people outdoors.
The Order has also been updated to require a proof of full vaccination at all large events, consistent with Step 3 of B.C.’s Restart Plan. That includes events consisting of up to 50 people or 50 per cent of a venue’s capacity (whichever is greater), and outdoor events hosting 5,000 people or 50 per cent of a venue’s capacity (whichever is greater).
