Aug 22, 2021 | 9:00 AM
SEYMOUR ARM, B.C. — The Hunakwa Lake wildfire is no longer a threat to the community of Seymour Arm.
As of Friday (Aug. 20) at 12:00 noon, Seymour Arm has been given the ‘all clear’ by the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District.
The Shuswap community was first placed on evacuation alert on July 14 as the Hunakwa Lake fire began to roar out of control. Part of the village was evacuated about one week later as flames pushed closer.
The fire eventually grew to 3,601 hectares.
