Vernon sports club hires squash pro
The Roster Sports Club Bar & Grill has ramped up its squash offerings with new programs and a new squash pro.
Making the move to Vernon from Calgary, Peter Trafford joins The Roster Sports Club, bringing more than six years of professional coaching experience to the courts. Trafford’s recent accomplishments include a Professional Squash Association win at the 2021 Mount Royal University (MRU) Open, and as a finalist at the Calgary Open in October 2020.
As a junior squash player, Trafford was a provincial finalist and made it to the final eight at the Alberta Jesters Jr.
“Before joining The Roster, Pete coached for Mount Royal University and was the Head Squash Pro at the University of Calgary; helping grow the program to more than 200 juniors, and 100 adults in three years,” said club owner, Hussein Hollands. “We are very excited about growing our programs and ensuring the sport of squash continues to thrive in our community. Peter brings the expertise and the passion to do just that.”
