Popular restaurant closing its doors

The owners of a Vernon restaurant say they have been flooded with orders since they announced they will be closing a few days ago.

Temptasian, a family-owned business on Anderson Way, will serve its last meal around August 22, give or take a day or two, depending on their inventory.

The restaurant was opened 13 years ago by Joe and May Ng, and has been run by them and their daughters, Gloria Robinson and Wendy Carlos.

Robinson told Vernon Matters, they are closing because her father is retiring, and due to the lease they’ve been able to arrange with a new business that will take over the building.

“They [new business] will announce once they are ready to do so,” said Robinson, adding that announcement will likely be in the next five or six months.

Robinson says the closing is a bitter sweet moment for her family, and now that word is out (see notice below), their loyal customers have been showing their appreciation.

“It was crazy [busy] when we opened, and it’s crazy when we closed,” Robinson said with a laugh.” Ever since we announced it, it’s just been non-stop. We just can’t keep up, and we’re only in the fourth day.”

“I am so sorry to hear this,” said one of the many people to comment about the closure on the restaurant’s Facebook site. “Thank you for all the great years of service. My family will truly miss yours and the great food that you served to us on a regular basis. We will miss you and look forward to seeing your new adventure.”

“Best food in the Okanagan. So sorry to hear this guys. Anxious to hear what is next,” said another person.
